We're very excited to have Stratford band The Bookends on the program for SSO's upcoming 2021 Cows and Classics concert, premiering online Monday, June 28th! Here's the wonderful story of how the band was formed:

"We never set out to be a band, but sometimes beautiful things take you by surprise. After discovering a shared love of Celtic music in 2016, backyard summer jams turned into countless hours of exploring tunes on cold winter evenings. As we delved into vast collections of rich music in the Celtic tradition, tune set after tune came together and we discovered our own distinctive sound and interpretation of the melodies. With the addition of our own unique arrangements, The Bookends was formed.

Our music has always been a family affair. As we play, explore, and rehearse, the music is always accompanied by the sounds of our children playing together in the background. Our band name, “The Bookends" was chosen as it reflects our two families, practically mirror images of each other, coming together to enjoy our journey of music."
