What are AMP (Accelerated Mobile Pages) and why they matter to Stratford's local businesses?

People search for goods and services on their mobile devices more than desktop computers. Google pays attention to these trends and now favour mobile versions of web pages when ranking pages in Google search results. Part of the new way Google ranks web pages (mobile first) is how fast mobile pages load.

The new AMP standard is based on text only simple versions of web pages. Google ranks web sites that have AMP versions of pages as more important, which results in the sites showing up closer to the top when people do searches (in both map and regular search results).
