🌍 Reflecting on "Within Our Lifetime: A Wake-Up Story" with Mathura
On May 25, 2024, we had the privilege of experiencing an incredible immersive performance installation that invited us to awaken to our bodies, longings, and histories of resistance.
Titled "Within Our Lifetime: A Wake-Up Story," this event challenged us to confront the contradictions and complexities of our times while inspiring us to recognise our agency within them.
Mathura Temwa Mahendren captivated us with her storytelling prowess.
As a design researcher and committed advocate for creating brave spaces, Mathura's work reminded us of the importance of navigating discomfort and growth through love.
Her insights into how we process change and grief were both profound and moving, highlighting that love is the foundation for trans-formative progress.
This event was not just an artistic performance; it was a call to action, urging us to engage with the poetic realisation of justice in our lives.

Our Mission: Provocation brings together disparate voices working for positive change. Since our launch in Toronto in 2022, we are expanding our reach into new communities.
Emerging from the pandemic, we want the opportunity to come together in person, to discuss, explore, and understand the issues that directly affect us and our communities.
Opportunities for such vibrant public discussion and engagement have too often been limited, fragmented, and fleeting.
The Provocation Festival aspires to create a new public square of spirited discussion that is rooted in local communities but informed globally, for which an informed and engaged public is critical.
