Since we started making cheese in 2004, Monforte has doubled its sales every year, which is another way of saying thank you to everyone who’s given us the extraordinary word of mouth that drove those sales.

My dream, as many of you know, has always been for Monforte to have a home of its own, a dairy of our own.  Monforte has embarked on a renaissance, a rebirth, a remaking of the company.

We set some very challenging objectives: creating a sustainable micro-producer/dairy, with an apprenticeship program and new products to complement our cheeses. 

The biggest challenge of all in our ailing economy was raising the money. So, I decided to fund the new Monforte via Community Shared Agriculture principles.

This means each and every customer can be part of Monforte’s future by subscribing to one of our three subscription options.

The first step was accomplished: Monforte has a new location for the dairy at 49 Griffith Road in Stratford and we have been making cheese there since 2010. 

Business hours in the summer season are 10am-4pm seven days a week. We have a variety of sheeps, goat, cow and water buffalo cheeses, yogurt and icecreams for sale along with Monforte crackers and whey-fed pork products. Drop in for a look around and watch our progress as we serve up seasonally crafted artisan cheeses.
